The right way to care for your swimsuit

Finding the right swim suit can be difficult as style and fits don’t suit all body types. Therefore, when you find a bathing suit that fits you just right, you need to ensure that it stays looking its best for longer. Here are a few tips on how to take care of your swim suit.

New swim suits – Wash out your new swim suit with a solution of water and vinegar (one-quart water and one tablespoon white vinegar), to help your swim suit retain its color.

Shower first – Shower before you get your swim suit wet at the pool or the beach. Showering in cold water will block chlorine or salt from damaging your suit.

Rinse after – After you’re out of the pool or beach and want to soak up the sun, take a quick cold shower and towel yourself off as much as possible.

Hand-wash it – Once you’re out of the water, rinse your swimsuit with cold water and a gentle detergent.

Hang or lay to dry – Once you’ve washed your swim suit, lay it out on a towel to dry. If this is not possible, hang your swim suit in your bath or on a balcony that doesn’t receive direct sun light.

Rotate suits – Take multiple swim suits on vacation. Rotating your swim suits will give ample time for your swim suits to dry and to recover before you wear them next.
